panorama bar resident nick ho&#776,,,,ppner gets to work on his second solo album on ostgut ton, connecting the territories of house music with the ease of alt-pop. work as in labor. an axiom that fuels the capitalist system just as the techno/house scene economy says that one needs to keep oneself busy to make a living. as a musician, things are complicated of course. it’s a long way from the romantic idea of creating music simply for the sake of art to becoming a full time musician. those who have accomplished this feat often find themselves in a professional loop of writing the music, producing it, promoting it (with an info text like this), releasing it and then hopefully selling it. after leaving his full time job as ostgut ton’s label manager in 2012, nick ho&#776,,,,,,,,,,,,,,ppner went fully freelance, focusing on his musically diverse, deep and dynamic djing in and outside berghain’s panorama bar, but more importantly spending more time in the studio. the result was his critically acclaimed debut album folk (ostgut ton, 2015), various 12“ releases and remixes, and now his sophomore lp, work, which, more than ever, lays out his refined production skills and his talent to work the machines until they reveal their inner ghosts: nine new songs that now dodge the dance floor, then fully embrace it.

almost 10 years have passed since onra arrived with the charmingly eccentric chinoiseries lp. 32 hip-hop beats formed the sample-based project - dusty chinese vinyl hissing and crackling throughout – resulting in an intriguing and spontaneous mix of the producers interest in exploring a newly-discovered style of music with his love for classic hip-hop production.
using the style of analogue mpc production combined with the somewhat restrictive record sampling of strictly chinese music records, he has been able to be creative over three volumes, an amount of 100 instrumentals, despite the challenge of finding more obviously standout samples in chinese music.
the chinoiseries projects are the type of albums that invites the listener to play it from beginning to end, in order to really enjoy the trip and appreciate the variety of rhythms and textures spread over those 32 short instrumentals. in that way, “pt.3” is no different to its predecessors, but the originality of the samples, the curious harmonies and the odd-drum patterns still makes the album sounds as fresh as the first one.

we at finale sessions are proud to have hungarian all inn records boss pola bless us with an ep! as you know we never go in one separate direction with finale sessions and we dig super deep on this one! we start with the track fallen idol which is my favorite of the three with its really nice percussions and it s streaming efx we cannot forget the bassline that takes it over the edge. track two winds of vengeance a very latnight track with moving synth s and very eclectic pads which gives it that dance floor appeal. last but not least we have reunion which has a real funk sound to it and it still has that punchy sound for those late night peeps who like that chicago sound and it also has added vocal witch keeps the music flowing. thank you from finale sessions with love
